Younger kids can’t participate in an app, is there another way the school and teachers could encourage them to do the actions and track them without the use of a smartphone?
It is possible to print the pins out (by visiting https://joulebug.com/actions/, selecting an individual pin, right-clicking, and selecting the option to Save the image for printing- we recommend printing on recycled paper)
We suggest teachers in lower grades printing out a selection of pins most likely to be used and understood by the younger kids and tracking their actions in class with a Pin chart. Teachers can turn the pins into stickers, or make a chart with selected pin options and have students mark with a sticker or pen when they’ve completed an action.
We would like to share with the parent community so they can see what we’re doing and track parent interest. Can they participate as well?
We absolutely support parents joining in on the fun! If you’re wanting to keep their activity separate from the students’ and teachers’, then we could set up an additional Parents’ Challenge with multiple teams, one for each school, grade level etc (depending on your community), and ask them to join that. A user can be a member of only one team in a Challenge, so if parents have multiple children in more than one school, they will need to select only 1 team. But if both parents play, they can each select a different team.
